Service Description

Our very first advanced class! This class is for higher complexity learning and is suitable for students with sewing experience. We will be dipping our toes into weaving techniques, spinning, needle felting, punch needle, wet felting, and fashion design with the goal being to use the tools we've established in the past to create sturdy, functional pieces (clothing, handbags, scarves, etc.). This class will be held in the back room of our studio (or garage, depending on the activity when we are using dress forms). Spots are limited! As usual, the learning experience is broken into two parts, the first one being a "tool box" lesson that everyone has together to ensure students are introduced to basic skills that will guide them, or act as "tools" in their creative exploration. After completing the tool box lesson, students will plan and propose projects to work on and have time to do so called "open studio." During open studio, children must exercise independence and responsibility as they get deeper into a medium that appeals to them. The studio offers an intimate creative environment in which I cater my instruction to support each child over time based on the child's interests and my observations. My goal is for your child to develop proficiency and independence in specific skills, and most importantly, confidence and courage in making decisions. ***Ideal for 6 Years and Older, please message me first if your child is younger to determine if it is a good fit! *** Class Dates: September – 1, 15, 22, 29 October – 13, 20, 27 November – 3, 10, 17 December – 1, 8 ***3 PM Pickup is Available from Harvard Elementary for $75/semester***
