Tuesday General Art
4-6 pm @ 1116 Arlington St.
Service Description
Let your child take a deeper dive into the mediums of paint (watercolor, acrylic, tempera), air-dry clay, and paper-based crafts (origami, quilling, sketching/graphite, pastels etc.). We will cover color theory, how to plan a piece, and more! Our classes run 2 hours total, with a snack break halfway through our work. The learning experience is broken into two parts, the first one being a "tool box" lesson that everyone has together to ensure students are introduced to basic skills that will guide them, or act as "tools" in their creative exploration. After completing the tool box lesson, students will plan and propose projects to work on and have time to do so called "open studio." During open studio, children must exercise independence and responsibility as they get deeper into a medium that appeals to them. The studio offers an intimate creative environment in which I cater my instruction to support each child over time based on the child's interests and my observations. My goal is for your child to develop proficiency and independence in specific skills, and most importantly, gain confidence and courage in making decisions. Class Dates: September: 23, 30 October: 7, 14, 21, 28 November: 4, 11, 18 December: 2, 9, 16 *** 3 pm pickup from Harvard Elementary Available at an Additional Cost of $75/semester***
